During the playing season reports on matches and events are printed in the local newspaper with home Tournaments being advertised on Local Radio stations prior to taking place and this gives us an opportunity to both highlight the achievements of the players and to thank the sponsors who have supported us throughout the year.
Jet’s Bronco stage a comeback
Saturday saw the Runcorn Jet’s Bronco Baseball team play their 1st Home league game of the Season against Cartmel Valley Bronco’s . After 2 innings the score was Jet’s 1 – Cartmel 10 the run being scored by Jordan T off an R.B.I from Craig and with one of the Jet’s new pitchers struggling with the conditions of the pitchers plate Cartmel scored mainly from walks and stealing .In the 3rd innings Jet’s failed to score with Cartmel scoring 5 , mainly walks again. In the 4th innings Jets new pitcher Ryan struck 2 of Cartmel’s batters out with the last out being a tag on 1st base . Jet’s 1 - 17 In the 5th innings Jet’s started to recover scoring 3 from Craig , Rachel and Dean and with Dean pitching the visitors only managed to score 2 due to better fielding and strike outs . 4 - 19 . In the 6th open innings , Jet’s once again scored 3 from Glen , Craig and Rachel with Cartmel scoring 2 . The 3 outs being a strike out and 2 throws to 1st baseman Jordan T . Final score Jet’s 7 – Cartmel 21.
In a 3 innings friendly that followed Jet’s won 3 –2 showing an improvement from the Jet’s as the day wore on .
